the twins are 4 weeks today. It would have been my delivery day {38 weeks} if i had been able to carry them to term. in some ways it feels like they have been here for more than 4 weeks, but in most ways it’s really hard to believe. at the risk of sounding cliché, time has flown by and my babies are growing so fast. breck had his first doctor’s appointment yesterday and we found out he weighs 5 lbs 12.5 oz! that’s more than 2 pounds heavier than his lowest weight! we’re pretty sure that thatcher weighs more than 6 lbs, but she won’t go back to the doctor until next week. the twins are having a lot of “wake times” and i’m pretty sure thatcher has even purposely smiled {don’t tell me she can’t – i won’t believe you}.
this week we have really enjoyed getting to see the twins interact with each other. in the nicu it was hard to really put them together since breck was attached to wires and there was no where to lay them side by side.

btblog1 ^^ we took our first walk together! i loved getting out of the house and exploring our new neighborhood with them. between bed rest during the pregnancy and living at the nicu afterwards, i haven’t gotten to check things out yet. we discovered a mexican bakery – and all i can say about it is yum. yum. yum. we will definitely be visiting this place frequently {anything to help with losing the baby weight, right?!} and next time we do i’ll be sure to let you guys in on it.

btblog2^^ heart has burst. i mean, come on!

btblog3btblog4btblog5^^ our first real outing. of course it was to target to try and find formula last minute as we realized we had miscalculated what we had left. also, please no judging – i know breast milk is best and believe me when i say i’m trying my hardest to be able to give it to them, but right now i’m just not making enough. if anyone has any tips/advice though, i’m all ears.

btblog6^^ also super dad {as we like to call him around here} is traveling for a couple of days and we are missing him like whoa. the twins are missing their evening snuggle time with him, but not to worry – their nori {what we call my mom} is here to take his place. we’re so thankful to have her here and can’t wait for their pops {what we call my dad} to get here too!

i know i say this every time, but thank you for all of the kind words and support! the last few weeks have been very hard and once again you guys pulled me through. now i just can’t wait for all of the fun times ahead with my babies!

My sister takes fenugreek to help with her supply, also I hear eating oatmeal helps. Good luck and congrats on your beautiful babies!!
