last sunday, adam + i went to our first chicago festival this summer! {i know, i know, but we’ve been super busy and were out of the country almost all of june {these are valid excuses, right?}, so chicago, please forgive us for not taking advantage of your awesome summer festivals!} we’ve really been trying to explore new neighborhoods and when we up in lincoln square eating at fork on friday {read about it here} we saw signs everywhere for the square roots festival. and then when adam saw that they had 30+ craft beers, there was no way we were going to miss it. there was live music, shopping, and of course lots of food! unfortunately it was a billion degrees outside, but we tried to keep cool in the shade. i’m really glad we went because it was a lot of fun!

we saw a stage playing live music and wondered over there. then we realized it was the kids' stage and that they were making animal noises...

thankfully we just had to wonder down the street a little more to find the adult music

there were a lot of dogs out at the festival. normally we would bring gruber with us, but since it was so hot, we knew that he'd be miserable

because if we hadn't already eaten enough food, we saw this place on the way out and just had to stop...i mean they had pork in the popcorn, how could we say no
